The Beginning

Pendle Powerfest was founded in 2012 by a group of volunteers who had previously been involved with the Barrowford Show. Whilst the show was on hold, this group decided to set up a separate Classic Car & Bike Show to help fundraise to get the show back up and running.

The first show was at Nelson & Colne College in 2013 and with the help of some fantastic weather Pendle Powerfest was born.

The following year the show was held at Burnley College but due to terrible weather and the change in location, the show didn’t work as well.

2015 - Lotus Celebration and More

2015 marked a change in direction and focus for the show and with the addition of some new team members, the show returned to Nelson & Colne College. The show was marketed as an All Vehicle Show with a number of high-profile vehicles in attendance. This included a one off Colin Chapman Lotus Esprit S2, a Metro 6R4 Rally Car as well as Knight Riders KITT.

Live Music, trade, and catering accompanied this and with over 2000 visitors, money from the proceeds was donated to Pendleside Hospice, Speed of Sight, and The Mountain Rescue Service.

2016 - The Italian Job

2016 saw more volunteers join, leading to the continued growth of the brand, and a Cars & Coffee event was added at Rolls-Royce Leisure. This was a great success and has set a template for the team to replicate at further events.

The start of the year also marked a change in the way Pendle Powerfest is run. The group decided to incorporate Pendle Powerfest Limited. This gave the group full control of the running of the brand and allows them to further their fundraising plans.

Pendle Powerfest: The Italian Job Special in May 2016 received DOUBLE the crowds of 2015 with 4,000 people visiting on the day, enjoying the Italian Job display, a wide range of vehicles, indoor and outdoor family entertainment as well as live music, competitions, and more.

The organizer’s fundraising for this show was driven by the sudden illness of Show Manager Graham who had been struck with the brain virus: Encephalitis. The team working closely with the charity The Encephalitis Society raised £2000 and presented it to their representative at the October Cars & Coffee. The huge added bonus is Graham has made an incredible recovery and is back working with the team.

With Multi-million pound Le Mans Racing cars alongside rally and track cars, it was quite a spectacle. This culminated in over £4000 being donated to SEVEN Hospitals in vouchers and toys in the Horsepower Heroes Convoy, bringing delight to children in hospitals with superheroes and supercars in a rolling Motorshow.

2017 also had several Cars & Coffee Events plus the launch of a new social media platform on Youtube:  Pendle Powerfest TV.

2019 - World Tour

Torrential rain caused chaos to our most ambitious show yet, with a new live arena and special guest Carl Fogarty, it promised to make event more money for our charities St Rocco's Hospice and Outcry Theatre Company. Despite the rain, those that did venture out still had a great time. We also launched our Challenge Tour. Taking in 100 Miles of great driving roads, this offered our customers something different yo our static events
